Looking at the Tarot- The Fool

I have been trying to work a bit more with my tarot deck lately and figured over the next little while I would go through my tarot deck and write my thoughts on the cards as I review them. Starting off with the first card of the major arcana and the 0 card - The Fool.

He looks carefree and ready to set out into the world. The looks as though he is going to leap off the edge of the cliff into the unknown. Which I think is how many of us feel on a day to day basis, ready to just jump in and not knowing what we are always getting ourselves into. He is looking up as if he is expecting divine guidance to carry him along on his journey. He has his dog, (faithful companion) by his side, and the sun is the promise that there is something greater beyond the snow covered mountains. He has his arms open as if he is putting his life now in the hands of some higher power, or perhaps he believes that he can fly without wings. He is leaving the past behind him in the search for something new and is happy about the choice that has been made to carry on with this journey.
