Your journal is just beautiful!
Blessings,
Okay, so here goes my first truly angry rant for a while…
On to why I happen to be pissed off and why I mention it. I happened to join up on one of the plethora of profile building sites that are out there these days to show support for the pagan and wiccan community and usually since most of these site building places have a “blog” section listed on them now I post the same message in all of them directing people to come read my blog here. Why you ask, well because I think it is redundant to have to post the same thing in different places when those who truly want to get to know me can come to one place where I do devote a lot of time. The message I post is this:
“Have you ever noticed that there are too many places out there for people to build online profiles? I just kinda get sick of having to type the same thing over and over and over again so that people can know about me on various other website. In all actuality none of mine ever really say anything different so I have gotten to the point where everyone is referred to the same one place. If you are interested in reading my blog you will have to go here:
http://imaredhed0.bravejournal.com/
I will not be posting anything else here all of my blog entries will be there.”
Okay, so I put this post in said blog and I got a comment on it that said something to the effect of I was wasting these peoples time by posting it and that apparently I am putting these people of the Wiccan community down by thinking I am above them and not wanting to waste my time posting blogs on their little site. Also, apparently by posting this I am not wanting them to get to know me. Um, excuse me but in posting the link to my blog isn’t that giving them a way to get to know me? I would post the actual comments that were left for me but said profile building site has chosen to remove my blog post for its “negative connotation.” I'll admit it probably is not the nicest choice of wording I could use, but as I said it is a blog that is supposed to be of my opinion, right. Since that is how I feel it is how it is worded.
I did get an apology post after I commented on the fact that I felt it was rude of this person to assume things about me and was entitled to think what they wanted about my post, but my opinion is my opinion and I stand by it. There are too many places out there for people to build profiles and just because I want to sign up and show my support doesn’t give anyone the right to say that what I have to post is negative and not contributing to the positive growth of a site.
I honestly think that people really just need to get over themselves, and realize that not everyone in the world is going to agree on everything. People are going to have a difference of opinion and are not always going to like what others have to say. However, I don’t remove comments from my blog, the sites I run, etc., just because I may not like what you have to say. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone otherwise. I also would not go to someone’s blog and tell them then cannot post whatever they want because it is their blog. If I do not agree with what is said I just will not go back and continue to dwell on it and read what that person has to say.
If you think what I have to say is not helping to foster a positive light on the Pagan and Wiccan community then that is your opinion and you obviously do not know me. If you did know me you would know what I have been through in my life and the things I have had to deal with that have gotten me where I am today. I don’t let anyone walk on me no matter what community they claim to be from and I don’t care if you are of the same faith community as I am if I disagree with you I am going to stand up and say so.
Since when does every Pagan/Wiccan blog have to conform to some “white light and fluffy crap” image? I have a brain that works and because of that I plan on using it. If you don’t like what I have to say then by all means stop reading. It’s not like I force you to come here in the first place.
